Privacy
Short version: we run Google Analytics, we have no adverts, we sell nothing, and we do not have a mailing list. The longer version is below, in plain English rather than the usual boilerplate.

Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to see which guides people actually read. This is genuinely the only way to tell whether anything here is useful, since the site has no sign-ups and no sales to measure.
What it collects: pages viewed, roughly how long for, how you arrived (search, a link, direct), and coarse technical details — approximate location at city level, device type, browser, and screen size. Google Analytics sets cookies to recognise a returning browser across visits.
What it does not collect: your name, your email, or anything you type. We never send personal information to Google, and we have not enabled advertising features, remarketing or Google Signals.
We cannot identify you from it. The reports we look at are aggregate — "412 people read the KDP guide this month", not who they were.
Turning it off
Any of these works, and none of them affects how the site behaves:
- Install Google's official opt-out browser add-on.
- Turn on your browser's tracking protection, or block third-party scripts. Firefox and Safari block much of this by default; most ad-blockers stop it entirely.
- Use your browser's private or incognito mode, then clear it when you close the window.
The contact form
If you send a message through the contact page, your name, email address and message are emailed to us so we can reply.
- We use Resend to deliver that email. Your message passes through their systems in transit.
- We use your email address only to reply to you.
- You are not added to any mailing list, because there is no mailing list.
- We do not sell, share or pass on anything you send.
- Messages sit in an ordinary email inbox and are deleted when they are no longer needed.
There is nothing else on this site that collects information from you. No accounts, no comments, no newsletter, no checkout.
Hosting
The site is hosted on Vercel and served through Cloudflare. Like every web host, they process standard request data — IP address, browser user-agent, which URL was requested — to serve pages and to block abuse. That is a normal part of how the web works and happens on any site you visit.
Third parties we link to
Guides here link out to publishers, competition organisers, retailers and research. Once you follow a link you are on someone else's site, under their privacy policy, not ours. We have no control over what they collect, and a link is not an endorsement of their practices.
Your rights
If you have sent us a message and want to know what we hold, or want it deleted, ask via the contact page and we will do it. There is not much to hold: an email, in an inbox.
Changes
If this page changes materially, the date at the top changes with it. We will not quietly rewrite it.
